Accuracy and Limitations
The calculator uses Income Tax bands, National Insurance thresholds, student loan repayment rates, and Personal Allowance figures published by HMRC for the 2026/27 UK tax year. We update these figures each April when new rates are announced. However:
- Results are estimates based on the information you provide and standard HMRC assumptions
- The calculator does not handle self-employment income, dividends, or rental income
- Benefits in kind, company cars, and private medical insurance are not included
- Marriage allowance transfers and other allowances beyond the standard Personal Allowance are not modelled
- Employer NI contributions (which don't reduce your take-home pay) are not displayed
